Turning tragedy into regeneration in Quezon City

“These small, consistent actions, whether planting trees or choosing local, reflect the kind of long-term impact we want to make here at Ascott.”

— Quijano Ma. Faith, Assistant Residence Manager & Country Sustainability Co-Champion, Philippines, The Ascott Limited

Regeneration through community action

In Quezon City, a former landfill has been transformed into a vibrant public park through The Ascott Limited’s (Ascott) long-term commitment via its Ascott CARES program — a global sustainability framework driving impact across five pillars: Community, Alliance, Respect, Environment and Supply Chain. Ascott is the first hospitality company in the Philippines to achieve country-wide GSTC certification.

Through tree-planting activities in collaboration with the local community and Filipino NGO Rural Rising, Ascott is not just restoring ecosystems — it’s nurturing relationships. By planting native seedlings sourced from local farmers, hotel staff and residents create a meaningful connection between rural livelihoods and urban regeneration.

This film captures the voices behind these efforts — those who see sustainability not as compliance, but as a way of showing up for people, the planet, and future generations. Their efforts demonstrate that business done responsibly can leave a positive mark on both community and the environment.

By integrating sustainability into daily operations and fostering long-term community partnerships, Ascott CARES is redefining responsible hospitality — showing how the industry can drive environmental restoration, economic inclusion, and social impact, one local action at a time.
