Project Remission: A Lifestyle Medicine Approach to Type 2 Diabetes

As healthcare systems face rising rates of chronic disease, Project Remission shines a light on a transformative approach to care—lifestyle medicine. Through short films, expert interviews, and real-world case studies, the series explores how clinicians are addressing root causes, improving patient outcomes, and advancing evidence-based pathways toward long-term health and disease remission.

Launched in March 2026, Project Remission: A Lifestyle Medicine Approach to Type 2 Diabetes is a digital series produced by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in partnership with Content With Purpose (CWP). The series explores how lifestyle medicine is transforming the prevention, treatment, and potential reversal of chronic disease through evidence-based, whole-person care.

Bringing together clinicians, researchers, and real patient experiences, the series highlights how therapeutic lifestyle interventions—such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connection—are being applied in practice to improve outcomes and redefine what is possible in modern healthcare.

Grounded in science and clinical expertise, Project Remission positions lifestyle medicine as a powerful, scalable approach to addressing the growing burden of chronic conditions. Together, these stories showcase the growing role of lifestyle medicine as a foundation for high-quality, whole-person care.

The series features short films from the following series partners: AdventHealth, Albertsons Companies, Ardmore Institute of Health, Blue Shield of California, Blue Zones Health, Cecelia Health, Cronometer, Hospital for Special Surgery, Keck Graduate Institute, Kellyn, ModifyHealth, My Viva Inc., the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, Point Loma Nazarene University, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and USC School of Medicine Greenville.

Bringing together leading clinicians, researchers, and real-world case studies, the series showcases how lifestyle medicine is being applied across diverse healthcare settings to improve outcomes and expand what’s possible in chronic disease care.

Featuring expert insights from pioneers in the field, alongside case studies from organisations including Borinquen Medical Center, Florida State University, The Permanente Medical Group, and DFW Endocrinology, the series highlights practical, scalable approaches to care.

From community-based interventions to integrated health system models, these stories demonstrate how therapeutic lifestyle interventions—such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connection—are being implemented to support better patient outcomes and, in many cases, long-term disease remission.
