Lifestyle medicine advancing remission of type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes has long been treated as a progressive condition managed over time. Yet growing evidence shows that therapeutic lifestyle interventions can treat and, when used intensively, often achieve remission.
Project Remission: A Lifestyle Medicine Approach to Type 2 Diabetes examines how lifestyle medicine is reshaping clinical practice — addressing root causes of disease through a whole-person, evidence-based approach.
Treating the root cause of chronic disease
Project Remission: A Lifestyle Medicine Approach to Type 2 Diabetes is a new digital series from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) and Content With Purpose (CWP). The series explores how evidence-based lifestyle medicine is transforming the standard of care for type 2 diabetes, shifting the focus from disease management to health restoration.
Featuring clinicians, health systems, educators, and industry leaders, the series explores how the six pillars of lifestyle medicine are being integrated into care to restore health, support clinician well-being, and strengthen healthcare systems.
Through short-form films, expert interviews, and real-world case studies, Project Remission highlights how therapeutic lifestyle interventions can treat and, when used intensively, often achieve remission of type 2 diabetes, while improving clinician satisfaction and strengthening healthcare systems. Together, these stories showcase the growing role of lifestyle medicine as a foundation for high-quality, whole-person care.
